My Afternoon at Cheatham Hill
I am a volunteer at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, and one of my favorite Civil War places is Cheatham Hill. On June 27, 1864, the heaviest fighting occurred at this hill just south of Big Kennesaw Mountain. In many ways, you can still see the reason for the Union carnage at this site.
